Beasts of Fashion!

Bêtes de Mode (Beasts of Fashion) by Thomas Couderc and Clement Vauchez. They created 13 images of models superimposed over images of animals and the results are stunning! The works were displayed at Galeries Lafayette Boulevard Hausmann. Peep the rest of the images after the jump!

There is a short video of the installation of these pieces, here.

Head on over to http://www.helmo.fr/ to see more of their top notch work.

A Camera Made from 32,000 Drinking Straws

Photographer Michael (Mick) Farrell and Cliff Haynes perfected a way of capturing images using a wooden box filled with 32,000 drinking straws. Started in 2007, and undergoing several different versions, the Straw Camera basically works by processing the light collected through each straw (as opposed to a pinhole camera which creates an image from a single point).

Due to the multitude of perspectives the resulting image looks a bit like a pointillist painting made up of many, tiny dots. See more images below or click here to check out the book recently released about the project!
