DeadMau5 Essential Mix.

Not too long ago I featured a bunch of tracks from Toronto-based MSTRKRFT. Well it’s that time again, not for more MSTRKRFT but for more from Toronto. DEADMAU5! This is his 2-hour Essential mix! Pete Tong’s voice on the intros to these essential mixes always gets me pumped up. Throw this on while you work and you’ll be at home before you know it or throw this on over the weekend and you’ll be back to work before you know it. This is the type of music that makes me speed on the highway.

You can download it in mp3 from my new favourite site, Newmixes.com here.

Gold-Fused Sculptures Made From Remnants of Shattered Porcelain

Yeesookyung9

According to Korean tradition, artisans have a habit of destroying and discarding imperfect pieces. Since 2001 Korean artist Yeesookyung has taken these porcelain fragments, creating beautiful, imperfect sculptures by fusing them with gold leaf in the Japanese tradition of kintsugi. Drones Capture Disparity Between Rich and Poor in South Africa

Lines6

Cape Town-based photographer Johnny Miller reveals distinct lines between rich and poor in a striking (and unsettling) series of photographs. Taken using drones, the aerial perspective presents the harsh reality of past Apartheid policies and the continued disparity in a way that can’t be ignored. Check out more images from “Unequal Scenes” below.
