Parasol Dead

Happy Halloween everyone! The creatives at Parasol Island got together and shot a little zombie flick, Parasol Dead. Inspired by the great Italian D-movies of the ’80s and shot in a style they refer to as “highschool film class”. The film could have been cut down by a minute or so, but they nailed the look.

Coincidentally one of my favourite groups Evil Nine just released their new video for All the Cash featuring El-P, and it’s also a zombie flick. Sadly, the song is great but the video sucks. If Parasol Island had shot a shorter version of Parasol Dead as the video for All the Cash then we woulda had a real winner. Watch both of them after the jump – and I think you’ll agree with me.

The image above, from Terminator (the best I’ve seen so far) was shared on Twitter last year. Since then a Tumblr has popped up called Guns Replaced with Selfie Sticks sharing similar images from popular movies, and it appears they take submissions. More images below.

Animation: Yeasayer “Silly Me”

yeasayer-newmedia

Another fantastic video by New Media Limited for Yeasayer. “Silly Me” is the prequel to “I Am Chemistry”, and both have a wonderfully strange animation style. Watch it over on Booooooom TV.
