I think the influence of Amy Cutler’s work needs to be noted here.

    Ha, these are hilarious.
So subtle, I’d love to frame them and hang them in unexpected places in my apartment for a nice surprise when I would forget about them.

These are all so dainty and lovely.
They have hidden meanings, each one.
Although the third one puzzles me…
Does anyone have any idea what the motivation behind this one was?

I really love the first two works, i think ur works are meaningful, i love the way you handled the material and subject, i’m looking forward to see more!:)

struggling to not feel slighty irritated about a clear rip-off of amy cutler. anyone? anyone?

    • lapetitefaon

Wow, I had never heard of her and just google image searched and you are right, I can definitely see that. Though I have to say Amy Cutler’s stuff is so detailed and well, I kind of love it that much more!!! Thanks for turning me onto a great artist!

  • Gwendolynne

I felt the same way when I saw them… it fully irritates me as I am a big fan of Cutler’s work.

Artist Spotlight: j.frede

Beautifully combined images in this series by Los Angeles-based artist j.frede. Made with seemingly banal landscape photographs purchased at flea markets and arranged into a single scene, these collages effectively merge different times and places together, creating entirely new landscapes. The gorgeous framing is really makes this simple idea quite striking. More images from Fiction Landscapes below.

Video of the Day: “Life is a Dance” by Sebastian Linda

lifeisadance1 lifeisadance2 lifeisadance3

Incredible energy in the filming/editing of this dance video by artist/filmmaker Sebastian Linda. Visual style is very similar to Leonardo Dalessandri’s “Watchtower of Turkey” (featured here) but I’d say it’s a much better fit with this type of content. Check out “Life is a Dance” below!
