Smile On Your Brother!

I went down to Livestock for the Smile On Your Brother show last night and snapped some photos. It’s up for two more nights – so you better catch it while you can. If you see a board you want, you can contact Annie or Mike here and place a bid. The auction closes near the end of October.

  • See a board I want? More like boards…I’d take a least half the lot, if only I had the money! What an amazing show though, would love to be able to see in it person…thanks for sharing pictures, though! :)

If only I had the money, I’d get one for my brother. The designs are great!

Hand-Embroidered Photographs by Artist Diane Meyer

American artist Diane Meyer questions the ability of photography to accurately preserve our memory and experience, highlighting its tendency to obscure the past by transforming history into an object of nostalgia. Embroidering directly onto photographs taken along the former path of the Berlin wall, see more images from “Berlin” below.

You can also click here to see our previous post on Meyer’s series of hand-embroidered family photos, “Time Spent That Might Otherwise Be Forgotten,” a selection of which is on display at the George Eastman Museum in New York until Janurary 29th.
