I am disappointed with videos like this really going for absurdism over any sort of real finish to an idea. This feels a bit like a Charlie White project but not taken far enough. The latest Ratatat video was kind of similar in that it hooked me in at the beginning and then really plateaued when nothing happened.

haha! I’m not so sure I agree, I liked the ending too. Yeah, we are in the WTF era of music videos I agree and I hope it lures Chris Cunningham back into making more music videos

Kristen Bell is in it. Of course its going to be bad.

This is vapid, corny bullshit.. like watching a straight-edge kid attempt to be ‘trippy’. The new Yeasayer blows.

Artist Spotlight: j.frede

Beautifully combined images in this series by Los Angeles-based artist j.frede. Made with seemingly banal landscape photographs purchased at flea markets and arranged into a single scene, these collages effectively merge different times and places together, creating entirely new landscapes. The gorgeous framing is really makes this simple idea quite striking. More images from Fiction Landscapes below.

Video of the Day: “Life is a Dance” by Sebastian Linda

Incredible energy in the filming/editing of this dance video by artist/filmmaker Sebastian Linda. Visual style is very similar to Leonardo Dalessandri’s “Watchtower of Turkey” (featured here) but I’d say it’s a much better fit with this type of content. Check out “Life is a Dance” below!
