  36. 25:10:10 Nocha Mckenna:

    Who framed Roger Rabbit?

    http://vimeo.com/13085676

  93. 25:10:10 Lorie:

I’d have to say Fantastic Planet (Le Planete Sauvage). It’s a French flick from the 70′s. Not only is the movie wicked strange, the soundtrack is Gold!

  94. 25:10:10 Michael:

    The Triplets of Belleville

  95. 25:10:10 Joanna:

Russian/Soviet cartoon called something like “Well, you just wait” (Ну погоди) and is about a crazy wolf and a hare. And yes, the wolf just tries to catch and probably eat the little hare. Love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBfCgY35yWg

  96. 25:10:10 Steve Poxson:

When the wind blows is an amazing mixture of animation and stop motion, which has an amazing mix of sly comedy and complete bleakness following a nuclear attack. Plus Bowie is on the soundtrack how more awesome could it be?

  97. 25:10:10 Fabrice:

    Gandahar by René Laloux! Masterpiece!!!!

  98. 25:10:10 Ley:

    Howl’s Moving Castle!

  104. 25:10:10 lily:

    Up!

  105. 25:10:10 Emmeline Pidgen:

    Only Yesterday.

A little bit of an odd choice some might say, but I love that it’s so oridinary and seems like it doesn’t even need to be animated – but that’s what makes it so gorgeous :)

  106. 25:10:10 Marta:

Alice in Wonderland, Walt Disney Productions.

  107. 25:10:10 Kirsten:

Mulan!!! classic Disney how can you not love it, of course the sequel was pretty crappy, but the first one was amazing. For a brief period of my childhood I wanted to pursue a career a Chinese warrior, i didn’t really consider the fact that I wasn’t Chinese, didn’t live in china (and probably never will) and had no athletic ability to speak of, but thats the magic of Disney, they fill children with unrealistic hope, I was so disappointed when I realized i’d never fall in love with an sexy army commander :(

  108. 25:10:10 Pete:

“Les triplettes de Belleville” by Sylvain Chomet.
The most beautiful animated film i’ve ever seen.

    Cat Soup!

  120. 25:10:10 Lorenzo:

    The Wall, Pink Floyd

Destino by Salvador Dali and Walt Disney.
    Stunning animation!

  122. 25:10:10 Cody:

    James and the Giant Peach!

  123. 25:10:10 jk:

I though Please Say Something by David O’Reilly pretty much reinvented the form.

  124. 25:10:10 Brian Tellock:

    Spirited Away!

  125. 25:10:10 Laurel:

Tekkonkinkreet is gorgeouss. I’m also a great fan of Heavy Metal!

    Mad Monster Party (1967)

  127. 25:10:10 Caroline Rhodes:

Howl’s Moving Castle is the best!

  128. 25:10:10 fili:

I have to say Paprika, this movie is a must see.

  129. 25:10:10 Aaron:

I rise my hand for Princess Mononoke!

  130. 25:10:10 abby:

    Toy Story. It begins here.

  131. 25:10:10 Dimitri:

I can’t believe nobody’s said the Aristocats! Mostly singing, mostly dancing, AND a mostly cat cast!

  132. 25:10:10 Michelle:

    the lion king!

  140. 25:10:10 Sue Larsen:

    Snow White

  141. 25:10:10 Karl:

    The Triplets of Belleville

  142. 25:10:10 Camila F.:

I love so many animation movies, but The Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite!

  143. 25:10:10 Chris Foster:

It’s a tie between ‘Waltz with Bashir’ and ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’

Both are just to good to choose.

  144. 25:10:10 Mark:

    The Iron Giant

  145. 25:10:10 Tomas:

Hard to choose… but i’m gonna pick Waking Life. (runners up: Tekkon Tinkreet and Howl’s Moving Castle)

  146. 25:10:10 samsstuff:

Wow! There are so many great ones that it’s hard to choose…”Spirited Away” maybe. Miyazaki is one of the best! I’ve seen a lot of great shorts & independent films, but I can’t remember their names, right now, so of the major film makers, anything by Miyazaki gets my vote.

  147. 25:10:10 Clara Stadler-W.:

Wallace and Gromit- A grand day out

  148. 25:10:10 Tabitha Burnett:

My childhood favorite was The Princess and the Goblins, but if I had to choose an all time favorite, I would choose 101 Dalmatians.

  149. 25:10:10 Erin:

    ROCK-A-DOODLE.
it’s been forever since i’ve seen it, but it always stuck in my mind.
    poor poor chanticleer.

  150. 25:10:10 Erika:

    totoro

  152. 25:10:10 katie shelly:

<3 the brave little toaster <3

  153. 25:10:10 Conrad Sly:

How about some experimental animation! The film _grau, by Robert Seidel, is one of the most interesting animations I’ve ever seen – remarkably haunting, it really sticks with you after you’ve seen it. As far as I know, no one can figure out how he created this masterpiece, although he’s stated that he somehow manipulates his drawings in 3d. His animated paint technique is just amazing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLkpEjxiSBo

  154. 25:10:10 ian:

    The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The Triplets of Belleville : )

  163. 25:10:10 Scott Stanley:

I do enjoy the classic He Man and the masters of the Universe, even though it isn’t a film I thought it deserved a vote for fun animation.

  164. 25:10:10 Scott:

Oh Yeah, does anyone remember the 80′s transformers animated movie with Unichron.
Amazzzzzzzzzzzing, with a radical rock & roll soundtrack to match.

  269. 25:10:10 Dalton:

Oh man!!! I’m pretty damn sure those wallets would go beautifully with my collection of Poketo Apparel (their clothing is like my crack!).

But anyways, in terms of answering the question it really is a no contest answer for me. Before I say what it is though, it should be made clear that my collection/admiration for animated film is both extensive and deep. However, that being said, my holy grail so-to-speak of animated film would have to be the Fantasia. This isn’t just a movie to me. This made up the better part of my early childhood, in which, with a somewhat cult-like fascination I’d watch this movie (or at the very least listen) everyday. Honestly, if you asked me why then, I couldn’t have told you, but now it’s just so clear to me how much it was shaping the rest of my art/music oriented life. I still can’t help but instantly play some sort of animation in my head whenever I listen to music (and didn’t even realize the source of this until much more recently).

I could go on forever about what I feel when watching, but basically, Fantasia is pretty much, like, my fav.

P.S. I’d like to point out my second runner up would have to be Don Hertzfeldt’s Rejected Cartoons.

  270. 26:10:10 María:

    I like pinocchio.

  287. 26:10:10 Richard:

Cowboy Bebop movie #2 simply for the flawless flow of content from the series, movie #1, and onto the movie #2. The content of the series was mind blowing for the time of completion as well as the execution of the story and characters. One must not note the classics such as lion king. When one thinks about 29 frames per second as well as having beautiful scenes 29 times a second is mind blowing. The animators at Disney are true masters. But… Its the content that gets me to choose Movie #2

    • 31:10:10 Richard:

Apologies first off, I made a mistake while posting. Unintentionally I stated a negation of my intentional purpose. I meant to state “one must not forget to note the classics”.
