I would really like to have a new alarm clock, since I have to trust one unreliable bitch of mobile phone to wake me in the morning. Most of the time I am late, which is okay for most of the time, because I am self-employed, but on the other hand I (and noone else) has to be there for my customers, therefore it would be a great help.

It’s got to be ‘Wake Up’ by Rage Against the Machine. Climaxing with the screamed mantra of the song’s title, which seeks to encourage the listener–in this case–to get out the hell out of bed.

Street Fighting Man by RollingStones for some reason I never get tired of this.

  • This is a question about what kind of person I am.

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up but stays in bed: Eisley’s “Trollywood”.

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up and actually gets up: Peter Bjorn’s and Scarlett Johannson’s “Relator”

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up from a coma and is afraid to fall asleep every night: The Cranberries’ “Every Morning”

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up and wants to be in a ladies’ rock band: Tegan and Sara’s “Back in Your Head”

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up and wants to be a lady: Endless Noise’s remix of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. (I swear, this bit would make even Donald Trump put on some heels.)

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up in the morning with a blunt club on the night stand and my spare room stocked with unperishables (for the zombie attack): Modest Mouse’s “Tiny City Made of Ashes”

If I’m the kind of guy who wakes up a zombie: white noise will be fine.

(Also, so we’re clear, The Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” is an awful song to actually wake up to.)

    • Cool answer ;)

    • Manda

Arcade Fire’s might be awful for you, but I’d stand by it.. Nothing wrong with a song that inspires a little self-psychoanalysis in the morning IMO!

people, i don’t know what kind of ” i can get out of bed with my favorite song”-people you are, … but to be honest: listening to my favorite, i would stay in bed longer.
    2) my favorite song changes; i would love to hear TIGER LOUs song “the warmth” to get up, but i now, i wouldnt.

    to be logical:
IF … my favorite wouldn’t get me out of bed [A]
AND … my favorite intends that i like the song [B]

BUT … the aim is to get OUT of bed [C]

THEN … the conclusion has to be (philosophical/logical):
    [C] = ]A[
I have to choose a song, i really DON’T LIKE (not to say hate)…

    choice 1 : WHAM! – “Last Christmas”
choice 2: Celine Dion – “my heart will go on”

i DO have a really deeply sleep. so, even though i do do do do do do (…) hate the song of celine dion (and it would be my number one choice of songs that make me puke) i gonna choose “LAST CHRISTMAS”, because it’s louder.

As salutation to the morning, I would choose “Yellow submarine” by the almighty Beatles. No, not the song but their magnificent movie. I’m not sure whether I will get up on time, but I will always be full of wonder.

If a fillm isn’t allowed by the absolute strict rules of the contest, I would prefer that beeping sound. BEEP BEEP BEEP. and again BEEP BEEP BEEP. It will be less wonderfull, but most likely I will be showing up in time than.

    “Oversleeping” by I’m From Barcelona

Not only does this song start with the sounds of an actual alarm clock, the title truthfully describes my morning habits.
