David Horvitz / Book Giveaway

If you are familiar with the work of David Horvitz then you know what to expect from his new book “Everything That Can Happen In A Day”. It is like a more meditative version of Miranda July’s “Learning to Love You More” project. He kindly sent over a copy for me, and it came with an extra copy so I could give it away!

    Acquire a voice-mail phone number for a solid duration of time (a month, six months, a year). Make sure it is one you can record your own personal greeting for people to hear when they call. Every evening make a recording describing details of the day. Small trivial quotidian details are good. The color of the sky, expressions on people’s faces in public, disregarded objects you see in the street. Make this less about personal exhibitionism, and more about small notes of the daily world that are mediated through your experience. Advertise the number so people you know and people you don’t know can call and listen to the daily details.
