Because she’s made a good serie portraying the sami people. As I am sami myself, I love photographers or artists who take the challenge to portray “us”. Especially because I find it quite a challenge myself. It’s not commonly OK to photograph dead or killed reindeers etc. and most people aren’t that comfortable with cameras. I could write a whole essay about why this is my favourite post, but I’ll stick with this, as no one really would read it anyway.

For the paintings by Justin there is something insubstantial yet magical about the way he combines his colors and images for me. It is very beautiful, especially the first image with the deer. It’s just gorgeous.

The sculptures by Ofra Lapid are wonderful in that they take you into a separate world where those houses truly exist. Despite the fact that they are crumbling down and falling apart, it isn’t a tragic world, but rather a fantastical one. Someplace where anything is possible.

I love the buttons too. Those are pretty great and I would be very proud to have one. ^^ I love Booooom! ^^

peters uses diagonal movement with the water, car, and falling person in his first photograph. the water on the street is largely out of his control and the movement of the falling person really shows his precise timing and capture of the scene.

the third uses the strange scene and the babies to show emotional tension. most emotional photographs depend on a situation, like poverty as shown through many journalist photographers or jacob riis. Peters uses the physical contact with the innocent babies to show something grating.

in the last, the car in the perfect tall hedge with the body on top is a hodgepodge of odd things. the dirty lawn, combined with the screen of the hedges, the bleak skies with wires, and the body on the edge of the car shows a scene odd and slightly scary.

bradley peters captures details only a lens can capture, but is also able in the art of making a realistic but creative scene that adds to the meaning and purpose of the art.
