#5 is my favorite from this set, I do wish he’d put a jelly bean on Pluto though.

    • i think they’re grape tomatoes and ya pluto is left out!

      • Jeffrey

Because Pluto isn’t considered a planet anymore!

      • what!

  • lepetitfaon

god, these are lovely, finding it hard to describe what makes them so magical, they look at once sturdy and at once like they could collapse at any second, very difficult balance, just beautiful

  • Emma

WOW. these are the best photos i’ve seen in a long time…

  • pretty cute :)

A Camera Made from 32,000 Drinking Straws

Photographer Michael (Mick) Farrell and Cliff Haynes perfected a way of capturing images using a wooden box filled with 32,000 drinking straws. Started in 2007, and undergoing several different versions, the Straw Camera basically works by processing the light collected through each straw (as opposed to a pinhole camera which creates an image from a single point).

Due to the multitude of perspectives the resulting image looks a bit like a pointillist painting made up of many, tiny dots. See more images below or click here to check out the book recently released about the project!
