“The Event of a Thread” installation by Ann Hamilton

Ann Hamilton / The Event of a Thread video by paul octavious
The Event of a Thread” installation by Ann Hamilton just closed at The Armory. I was dying to go after seeing several images of it pop up on Instagram last week, but lucky for us designer/photographer Paul Octavious shot a little video of the installation.

Actually, I’m not sure if lucky is the right word, I’m now a bit more depressed I didn’t get to go. Watch below!

Wow! completely immersive magical work! Its like a giant ice-burg/cliff/ Gaudi cathedral spires something…. constantly morphing and evolving its form! BEAUTIFUL !

I was at this show. It was very surreal interaction of either being on the swings or under the cloth or standing on the balcony observing it all.

Drones Capture Disparity Between Rich and Poor in South Africa

Taken using drones, the aerial perspective presents the harsh reality of past Apartheid policies and the continued disparity in a way that can’t be ignored. Check out more images from “Unequal Scenes” below.
