    This.

  • Johan Lind

    The bestest ever!

  • Oliver Herlitschek

Woah, these are insane. They remind me of those huge Gregory Crewdson photographs, but cropped and made into portraits. So good!

  • These are amazing. The quality of the photos feel different somehow, but I cant put my finger on it. Very good!

  • Elizabeth Walshaw

I love the blue lighting in the top photo. They all look like they could be stills from a film.

  • Sonia

    Nice!!

  • Mateo Pizarro

Are these staged studio-like photos or are they more spontaneous? either way: astounding work… but if they are not staged the guy is not just brilliant but lucky as f*ck

    • Jacob Mitchell

Many of these aren’t staged. He’s just a lighting god.

      • some are staged, I have the book with photos 1, 2, 4, 5, he said he approached people on the street, offered them some money to take a portrait and had the lighting setup.

Artist Spotlight: Carson Davis Brown

“Mass” is a project by artist Carson Davis Brown in which he creates sculptures inside of big-box stores and other places of mass. He constructs the unauthorized installations, photographs them, and then leaves them to be discovered by shoppers and staff. Images of the installations are printed, framed (using un-sold frames), and exhibited inside the stores without permission. See more images from the series below as well as video clips documenting the building of installations using cameras tethered to in-store camera displays!
