Booooooom x Herschel Supply: “Drawing On The Past” Art Show Opens Today

drawingonthepast-01 drawingonthepast-02

Vancouver! Our “Drawing On The Past” art show with Herschel Supply opens today at Burrard Arts Foundation (108 East Broadway). The gallery is open to the public everyday (noon – 5pm) until October 6th. Feel free to drop in and see all the amazing work before our big opening party on Thursday night.

If you plan to attend the opening on Thursday please RSVP the Eventbrite HERE. We may get really busy and there may be a line at some point during the night. If you’re on the list you’ll have an easier time getting in. We’re really trying to abide by the fire codes, the last show was over capacity. Beverages will be provided by Vancouver Urban Winery and Postmark Brewing.

My advice is show up early, have a couple drinks, and enjoy the show before the space gets too packed. Hope you can come check out the work, it’s an incredible show.

“Happy Breakfast” by Artist Gary Card

“Happy Breakfast” is a psychedelic zine by set designer and artist Gary Card. Filled with colourful and chaotic images that blur the line between cute and creepy, what began as a commission for Japanese magazine Them, has turned into something of an ongoing experiment thanks to London-based publishers Katie Bagley and Ferry Gouw of New World International. Informed by the work of English botanist and photographer Anna Atkins, Jablo tears up photograms of flowers, piecing them back together to create new shapes and patterns.
