Video of the Day: Crazy Music Video Filmed with 16,000 Volts of Electricity and Special Suits

cymatics-sciencevsmusic

To make a music video like the one Shahir Daud made for Nigel Standford’s “Cymatics” is no big deal; all you need is a giant tesla coil and some faraday suits so you don’t get electrocuted to death by 16,000 volts of electricity.

All the effects you see in this video are practical effects, no CGI. Watch the video below as well as several behind the scenes videos.

Interesting and well put together, but being familiar with all of these cymatic forms made it underwhelming and gimicky. Maybe that’s the extent of cymatics.

Secret Studio Hidden Beneath Overpass by Designer Fernando Abellanas

Designer Fernando Abellanas has constructed a tiny studio beneath a busy overpass in Spain. Complete with movable walls, light furnishings and a hand crank that transports the structure along two metal rails, the micro-dwelling hangs high above the ground in a manner reminiscent to the kind of secret hideaway or fort one might have as a child. See more images by Jose Manuel Pedrajas below!
