Filmmaker Tony Zhou returns with another brilliant video for “Every Frame A Painting”, his on-going series of video essays on all things film. In this episode Tony breaks down the genius of Jackie Chan and the art of making a good action comedy. Chan has terrific insights into the proper way to cut together action, and the video illustrates how many of today’s editors and directors are ruining films with their editing and framing choices.

This video is for anyone who has tried to watch a Transformers film and had no idea what happened during any of the action sequences. If you’re a filmmaker, of any kind, this is required viewing. Watch the video below.
