Craftsy: Getting Started with Watercolor

craftsy-watercolor

Our sponsor this week is Craftsy which provides downloadable eGuides and tutorials for aspiring artists. The resources they provide allow aspiring artists quickly pick up the basics. This week they’re offering a free downloadable eGuide on the basics of watercolor, apparently it was popular last time we offered it so they’ve brought it back.

The eGuide provides an introduction to things like paper types, color value, temperature, and intensity, as well as the proper technique for swatching new paints.  If you didn’t go to art school, this is an easy way to pick up some fundamentals. The best part is that it costs zero dollars.

If you want, you can download the Beginner’s Guide to Watercolor.

Filled with colourful and chaotic images that blur the line between cute and creepy, what began as a commission for Japanese magazine Them, has turned into something of an ongoing experiment thanks to London-based publishers Katie Bagley and Ferry Gouw of New World International.
