My friend, Austrian artist Nychos returned home to Vienna, and wasted no time covering a building with one of his signature animal dissections. This one’s a giant rat, “Snake Bait”. You have to see him paint in person to understand how fast he works.
Watch the process video below (brace yourself for some Judas Priest aka turn your volume up).
Here is a look at almost all of the walls from the Pow! Wow! Hawaii 2014 event, courtesy of photographer Brandon Shigeta. This was by far the biggest year yet which made it nearly impossible to see every wall that was painted. Some of the images here are of walls in progress, and there are more than a few murals missing.
Have a look at most of them below! Oh, and ya gotta see Roids and Insa’s animated wall (they painted one frame a day) here.
Here’s a little edit of some of this year’s Pow! Wow! Hawaii murals, shot high above the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu, from a little drone helicopter.
Artists in order of appearance: Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn, Ron English, Ekundayo, Meggs and Bask, Nychos and Buff Monster, Madsteez, and Andrew Schoultz. This is only a tiny glimpse, more to come!
Enjoy the video below!
A week from now I’ll be headed to out to Oahu for Pow! Wow! Hawaii 2014 and doing my best to cover all that goes on out there. Feb 8th-15th artists from all over the world will be painting murals in the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu. There will also be music workshops for youth and lectures by artists (I’ll be giving one too).
Some of my closest friendships have come out of this event, and I’m looking forward meeting to all the new artists that will be there this year. Below is a list of confirmed artists.
Confirmed International Artists:
Aaron De La Cruz
Spencer Keeton Cunningham
