Pedro Mari
Beautifully simple graphic work by Pedro Mari.
Yehrin Tong definitely makes my shortlist for creative typographers and all around insane graphic designers. Visit Tong’s site and you will immediately try to bookmark it, unfortunately your head will have already exploded making this task quite difficult.
Super fresh work from Auckland New Zealand’s Markus Hofko (aka The Rainbow Monkey). When Markus sent me the link I assumed I was looking at a bunch of work created by a collective of people – like an agency – but this is all Hofko. Amazing.
Casey sent me an email to let me know about her great little non-profit initiative, Yellow Bird Project. The project is a collaboration with musicians to raise money for various charities. Bands are asked to contribute original artwork which are turned into t-shirts as a way of raising money for their charity of choice.
Ivana Martinovic passed me a link to her design portfolio and I’m glad she did. I especially like these embroideries that were created for a series of wine labels. Beautiful work.
Marianne Bailey’s absolutely incredible design work for Yahama Design Lab’s Box to Play. Watch the video here, to get the full effect.
That’s not all – Bailey has also been working on a series of cell phones that double as musical instruments! There is a phone that changes your singing voice into a trumpet, as well as a phone that splits in half and can be used like drum sticks, waving them in the air produces the sounds!
Junichi Tsuneoka emailed me to say hello and I followed the link to his portfolio. I really like his little flyer designs – they have quite a unique style to them.
