“Neighborhood” is a wonderful short film by Saskia Kretzschmann and Vera Danilina, capturing visual similarities in two very different cities. New York City and Dessau, Germany, side by side. Watch below!
Not too long ago my friends at Endeavor Snowboards added a lab in the basement of their office so they could build prototypes in the morning and be riding them on the mountain by the evening. It’s pretty amazing. Here’s a look at their collaboration with Looking Sideways and Vans, where you get to see the whole process. People sent in images, Owen Tozer made a mural from them, and the mural was cut up and turned into 10 boards. Watch below!
If you are going to watch one video today, this is the one. Earlier this year I posted about photographer Ian Ruhter’s incredible “Silver & Light” project (see it here). Ian built the world’s largest wet plate camera inside of a truck and now he travels around creating these insanely beautiful large scale images using silver and light. Each one costs him about $500 a pop to produce.
“American Dream” gives us a small glimpse into Ian’s travels so far, meeting people, and hearing their incredible stories as he shoots their portraits. Inspiring stuff! Watch below!
