Pure inspiration here. Kelvin Doe is a self-taught engineering prodigy from Sierra Leone, Africa. He builds everything from generators to radio transmitters from things he finds in the garbage! At 15, he’s the youngest person ever to be invited to MIT’s Visiting Practitioner’s Program for international development. Watch the profile on this gifted creator below!
The MANWOLFS are back! Well, actually this is where it all started! Over the last couple years I’ve made numerous references to an elusive film called “MACHOTAILDROP”, directed by Corey Adams and Alex Craig. I say elusive because, due to the idiots at Fuel TV, barely anyone has actually seen it.
The film is equal parts Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, and Bruce Robinson, and it features some hilarious acting from skaters Rick McCrank and John Rattray. Oh and of course John J Mackie (leader of the Manwolfs).
You can now watch the entire thing online! Who knows how long it will be before it is removed so hit the link below!
*EDIT – The video is no longer available online.
Not too long ago my friends at Endeavor Snowboards added a lab in the basement of their office so they could build prototypes in the morning and be riding them on the mountain by the evening. It’s pretty amazing. Here’s a look at their collaboration with Looking Sideways and Vans, where you get to see the whole process. People sent in images, Owen Tozer made a mural from them, and the mural was cut up and turned into 10 boards. Watch below!
If you are going to watch one video today, this is the one. Earlier this year I posted about photographer Ian Ruhter’s incredible “Silver & Light” project (see it here). Ian built the world’s largest wet plate camera inside of a truck and now he travels around creating these insanely beautiful large scale images using silver and light. Each one costs him about $500 a pop to produce.
“American Dream” gives us a small glimpse into Ian’s travels so far, meeting people, and hearing their incredible stories as he shoots their portraits. Inspiring stuff! Watch below!
