Caine’s Arcade

Caines Arcade
Yesterday I watched this video and I cried, and I’ll admit it wasn’t just like one tear, there were at least five tears. I think this little film by Nirvan Mullick cuts so deep because it’s pure truth.

This has inspired me on a level I can’t fully articulate other than to say I’ve been trying to be like Caine ever since I graduated art school. It’s not easy to fearlessly create the way he does. He lives like no one has ever told him the things he wants to do are impossible. He is indestructible.

Watch the video below! It’ll inspire you in a way few things ever do.

Bittersweet Melodies

Remember these photos? Feist’s new video for “Bittersweet Melodies” features the wonderful work of Irina Werning. While it is essentially a slideshow of Irina’s “Back to the Future” project I like that they did this rather than attempt to copy Irina’s work.

Sixteen Saltines

Jack White Sixteen Saltines music video
Stereogum declared “Sixteen Saltines” by Jack White the best music video of the week. In my opinion, this is either a failed attempt at narrative or an intentionally abstract treatment that wasn’t pushed far enough.

As I watched the video it dawned on me how many times this month I’ve decided not to post videos for the same reasons. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the video and other videos like it.
