Last week I got an early Christmas present from my friends at Chronicle Books. They’re starting a holiday campaign called #GiveBooks, and asked if I wanted to pick myself any 10 books from their archives! Lucky me right? Well, lucky you too because I also get to send all 10 books to one of you! How does that sound?
Here are my picks:
So who wants ‘em?
Ahhh! (that was a girlish scream not the sound of me relaxing) I’m speaking today at Creative Mornings.
Apologies to everyone who was unable to get tickets, I was told they sold out extremely fast and unfortunately the venue is quite small. I will let you know how it goes! If you managed to get tickets please come up and say hi afterwards!
Wish me luck!
I found out yesterday that Booooooom has a Klout score of 80. I didn’t know much about the site so I dug around and discovered that it’s quite a high score. It might even be higher if I could link it to our Tumblr which has 20,000+ followers, but it isn’t my primary Tumblr account so I can’t.
Anyways, I’m interested to know if you guys care at all about a rating system like this. How much weight does this actually carry? Do agencies actually hire people based on these scores? How much work do you photographers get through social media channels? If there are people out there working at agencies or creatives involved with social media, I’d love to hear your opinions!
The main reason I am doing this talk is because I am making a conscious effort to pursue everything that I am afraid of. I will be talking about aliens, and the 1996 blockbuster film “The Rock”. There is a possibility I will never speak publicly again.
