Adobe Stock has introduced a stock content service that’s directly integrated into creative tools and workflows. Approximately 85% of creatives who buy stock use Adobe tools; and over 90% of stock sellers use Adobe’s tools to create their images. Adobe is working with buyers and sellers to create a streamlined experience that makes the flow of content more efficient for buyers and increases the opportunities for sellers.
Yours Truly has been collaborating with a group of filmmakers and composers to produce a series of creative, music driven, narrative shorts for Ray Ban’s channel, Never Hide Films. Booooooom was tapped to oversee the film posters for the series, which was a fun job because it meant we got to work with a bunch of our friends.
“Stories From Those Jungle Books” was directed by Fan & Tom, and scored by Forest Swords, and serves as a reminder to celebrate every victory, every chance we get. Stay tuned for the full film!
If you’re gonna be in Vancouver October 16 + 17, I’ve been invited to speak at a two-day festival here called Blend. It sounds like it’s going to be more of a party than a conference, for lovers of animation but also other creative things too (at least I hope so otherwise they’re going to be severely disappointed when they realise I’m not an animator).
Tickets are available at http://blendfest.ca.
If you could use some free encouragement, leave me a comment below and tell me why. I will be here for the next two hours responding live to any comments and will check back here after that!
Maybe everyone is happy these days and no one needs encouragement? If there are no comments all afternoon I will take it as a sign the entire world is happy, but if there are comments it would be my pleasure to cheer you up. I’d also like to start live discussions on the site maybe once a week, so this is sort of a test.
*EDIT #1 – Okay I’m done for the day! But there will be more things like this. Hope you all have a wonderful evening. Working on that actually really encouraged me too! So thanks!
*EDIT #2 – 10PM – I’m back responding to as many messages as I can.
*EDIT #3 – I’m going to check back on this post over the weekend so if you’re just discovering this post now you can still leave a request for encouragement and I’ll respond to them all!
*EDIT #4 – It is now Monday morning and I have responded to (I believe) every single request! It took me quite awhile but it was such a positive experience. I am closing this thread now just so there are no comments left without a reply. Thanks to everyone for participating!
Our sponsor this week is Craftsy, a resource for anyone looking to pick up some basic skills in a variety of creative areas. They’re currently offering Booooooom readers 50% off of a class called Basics of Digital Photography (offer expires July 18th).
In this class you learn about light and exposure, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, how to use various shooting modes and lenses. If you’re interested, learn more here.
Next Saturday is our SPORTS DAY event at China Creek Park! We’re teaming up with our friends at lululemon lab, Juice Truck, Tight Club, Culver City Salads, and Distrikt Movement to put on a really fun summer event!
Each of us is organizing a classic sports day game, and Booooooom’s game is gonna be a special version of Kickball! So get a friend, or two, or a whole bunch to sign up for a team. It doesn’t actually matter what neighbourhood you’re from as we’ve realised there are lots of people from other areas (shoutout to Richmond) who want to play!
With your ticket you get: a salad, a juice, 2 beers, and compete in all the games! Come play Kickball and hang out!
On July 11th, 4 communities will converge at the ruins of the 1951 Empire Games bicycle track, now known as China Creek North Park, for the first ever & maybe never again — SPORTS DAY: Hood Vibes Only.
On this day, Hoods will battle it out for the coveted blue, 1st place ribbon and bragging rights in an elementary school styled, semi-athletic competition for neighbourhood supremacy (aka just for fun).
Find a team, make a name, find a mascot, grab your old pinnies from elementary school, register, cancel all appointments, and get ready for a day of mind games, tug-of-war, run relays and of course beers.
With your ticket you get: a salad, a juice, 2 beers, a chance to compete in all competition, live DJ all afternoon, access to the beer garden.
Sign up for the event here.
