University of Hawaii Students

PJ (Acclaim), Ken (Hi-Fructose), Tan (Arrested Motion) and myself spoke to a really great class of design students from University of Hawaii. We got a chance to look at their portfolios and it’s safe to say there is a lot of talent here!

BRB, gone to Hawaii

I’m headed to Hawaii for a little POW WOW (and by little I mean HUGE).

north shore hawaii waimea bay oahu

I’ll be living in a house with a bunch of artists in Hale’iwa, in the gorgeous North Shore. Essentially, I may not ever come back (I will be back in a week). I’ll be updating Booooooom with the usual stuff and posting updates from POW WOW. Last time I was there I jumped off this rock, but I promised my mom I wouldn’t do it this time. However, I did get travel insurance. (just joking mom) (but I do have the insurance)

Later gators!

PS – Follow the POW WOW BLOG.

Internet now only for rich people!

This pretty much sums up the idiocy that is happening in Canada right now with regards to the future of our internet usage:

stop the meter internet usage based billing in canada

In my opinion the internet should be evolving into a more open and affordable environment, not a more expensive and inaccessible one. I can’t believe our Canadian government is allowing this to happen.

Canadian artists consider this:

“This also means that those who produce media-based art, and depend on the Internet to show the world their work, are less able to produce and disseminate their content freely. This means less innovation and more control of art, film, music, and other forms we may not yet know of!”

The only way to stop this is to rally together and email the leaders of our government, OpenMedia has made this really easy!

Already 250,000 people have spoken out against this. If you feel the same way I do, head over HERE. (it literally took me 2.5 seconds)
