A couple years ago my friend Matt Penner (an amazing painter among other things) started a company with his friend Damian called Native. To say their company has exploded would be an understatement, and I’ve learned a lot about how to grow Booooooom just by watching them. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to give away a pair of these Fitzsimmons coming out this fall. Who wants ’em?
For some unexplained reason Google flagged our site as potentially harmful yesterday and probably gave several of you a scare. It was incredibly frustrating to see first hand the power that Google has to sewer a site’s reputation on the slightest suspicion. There was also no apology once they finally reviewed this site and saw nothing was wrong.
I want to assure you the site is safe, and we have never, and will never attempt to put malware on your computer.
I also want to mention that while advertising does allow me to keep this site running I will not do anything at the cost of you, the readers. I want this to be a site that I would enjoy browsing myself, I don’t want you to have to close pop-up ads to read content. I hope you will give me the benefit of the doubt and trust that I am making every decision with you in mind.
I also want to apologize to those who received several emails in a row yesterday. We updated our wordpress version and for whatever reason it started sending out email notifications about old posts. As much as I love having so many subscribers I chose to delete several thousand of you off the subscription list so you wouldn’t get bombarded with emails but sadly I couldn’t remove all of you before many emails were sent.
I want you all to know that I run this site because it’s fun for me. I’m not here to get rich, it’s not even about the art, I just love connecting with people. The minute this site becomes a place that isn’t fun for me or you I will shut it down. I hope I die before then.
Thank you all for supporting the site and allowing me to continue doing what I love everyday, I don’t take it for granted. This was one of the worst Mondays ever but it’s Tuesday now and it’s already a lot better.
PS – Huge thank you to my good friend Kyle, you were a huge help today (and everyday really).
