Parra x David Burel Headphones

I don’t post about products too often, but I love the design of these headphones by David Burel. Artwork by Parra. I believe they’re sold out but another series of 100 headphones is on the way, go to Burel’s website to get on the waiting list. Not sure what your options are if you have a fat head though. *edit – David tells me these are not sold out and you can find them at: The Lazy Dog Paris, Patta Amsterdam, and HHV Berlin.

Yossi Michaeli

Love the art direction in this photo shoot by Yossi Michaeli. If I knew who handled the styling and makeup I would give them credit as well.

Genevieve Gauckler

I’ve always found an element of creepiness to Genevieve Gauckler’s work, perhaps that’s why I find it so interesting. Even when the image is like 99% cute there is like a 2% creep factor (I realise that makes 101% but that’s what I’m talking about – that extra 1% of creepiness is what gets me).

José Parlá

I hope to one day meet José Parlá. There are a lot of similarities between his work and the work of SheOne. Abstracted letterforms, quite poetic. Perhaps similar to the way Thom Yorke sings, repeating words, making sounds the way an instrument would.

Hvass & Hannibal

Sofie Hannibal and Nan Na Hvass are the lovely ladies behind Hvass & Hannibal, a Copenhagen-based art and design studio that has popped up on a lot of blogs lately. The duo were even guest blogging over on It’s Nice That last week! They have oodles of great work but I especially like these colourful illustrations.

Wes Anderson Interview

The Criterion Edition of Bottle Rocket was released this month and The A.V. Club has just posted a great interview with Wes Anderson. I was surprised to learn that he is a fan of Quentin Tarantino! If you want read about the making of Bottle Rocket and get the scoop on Anderson’s favourite debut movies by other directors head over here.
