2010
4 parts 91 x 137 cm/36 x 54 inches each

These works by Barbara Probst might just be my favourite feature ever on Booooooom. I posted a few of her photographs back in 2008 and randomly visited her site today to find she has made even more amazing work since then. In each series the same exact second is captured from different viewpoints. Her work questions the authority of a lone photograph by revealing several different representations of the same moment. I love how her framing leaves just enough of a clue in each photo to figure out what’s going on.

Blind Self Portrait Drawing Machine

Blind Self Portrait Drawing Machine by Matt Mets and Kyle McDonald
Blind Self Portrait is a collaboration by Matt Mets and Kyle McDonald, installed at NYC Resistor interactive show. Visitors close their eyes and the machine moves their hand to draw a self-portrait. The computer tracks the visitor’s face and generates a drawing based on it. What a fun experience it must be!

Watch a video clip of the machine in action below!
