Students at Ravensbourne College of Design in London have come up with an ingenious way to raise funds for their grad show, a project called Blank Canvas! Packages containing objects purchased in thrift shops were sent out to many of the students’ favourite designers and illustrators to act as blank canvases. The objects were customized by the recipients and sent back, and now the students are having an auction of the work on April 30th at the Vibe Bar on Brick Lane.

Not that impressed? Let me just rattle off a few of the 50+ artists/designers involved: Milton Glaser! Hellovon! Non-Format! Parra! Job Wouters! Andy J Miller! Julien Vallee! Alex Ostrowski! Stina Persson!

And the winner of the pair of tickets to F5 Fest in New York City (valued over $500) is… Katie Rains! Congratulations Katie! All you New Yorkers this one’s for you! F5 Fest is going down April 16-17 in New York and you do not want to miss it! Speakers include contemporary photographer Charlie White (I would go just to see him), Psyop, Dvein, Jonah Lehrer, Imaginary Forces, BBDO NY, to name a few. The tickets go for $280 each, and I have a pair to give away! I’m tempted to fly out there and use them myself! Did I mention the event has an open bar?
