Thanks for the shades, Oakley!

I am sick at home today but a box just arrived at my front door that cheered me up. The good folks at Oakley sent over three pairs of their new Frogskins (including the four-leg one), plus the Robert Pimple (aka Barry Mcgee) Hijinx frame, and the Will Barras Montefrios! Thank you very much!

The process of photo-weaving!

A fascinating little time-lapse of Todd M. Duym weaving two identical photos of a rose, together. The whole process took 20 hours. Definitely want to see that finished piece in person!

Amy Ross

I love the style of these drawings by Amy Ross which borrow from traditional botanical illustration. She describes them as implausible hybrid creatures, created by morphing animals with branches and mushrooms.

Unused artwork for Beck!

Mario Hugo’s fantastic work for Beck’s Modern Guilt album, that Interscope decided to pass on. I actually really like the cover art they went with (very classic) but these are really cool to see. After I found these I figured I would google to see who else had already written about them. +KN and changethethought posted about this in July haha.

1,000,000 pageviews in 30 days!

We are growing at an alarming rate! We’ve had over 1,000,000 pageviews in just the last 30 days, and we’re still less than a year old! The Facebook Group is so big now, they won’t let me send you all messages anymore (good problem I guess).

So I just wanted to take a second to say thanks to all of you for the support! I feel like I know many of you now (especially the frequent commentors), and there is definitely a great creative community forming here. I love running the site and hope to eventually make it my full-time job! Keep your eyes peeled, there’s lots of fun things coming…
