Lernert Engelberts and Sander Plug wanted to learn a new instrument, so naturally they did what anyone else would do… they built an 18th century-style duo glass harp and learned to play it in 8 weeks. What song did they learn? No Limit by 2 Unlimited, of course!
Here is Part 11 (the final part) of our Free Encouragement project with Design For Mankind! I apologize if I missed your entry, I had to manually throw these all together and it was quite a daunting task going through more than 400 of these little guys. Stay tuned in the new year for the second half to this enormous project! Thank you to all of you who participated (especially those of you whose first language is not english)!
The award for best free font of 2008 goes to, Quicksand. Designed by Andrew Paglinawan, Quicksand comes in a variety of styles and weights. Download it here.
Wonderful prints by Daniel Danger. For the most part they are wonderful but I have to be honest, this one creeps me out! My worst fear might be deep open water. In elementary school I remember someone having a Magic card with an illustration of a man in a rowboat in a small lake with a giant fish (literally the size of the entire lake) looking up from the bottom. Terrifying!
I finally figured out why the Flight of the Conchords album artwork is so awesome. It is because Tyler Stout illustrated it – AKA the guy who made that insane poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing – AKA the greatest movie poster in the history of mankind.
