Came across some great origami on Deviantart. This little camera was folded out of a single dollar bill! Also really dig the spider and the coi fish!
A moody series of photographs by Emile Hyperion Dubuisson. Night Lighting. I like to keep track of interesting names and I have to say that’s the coolest name I’ve posted since James Gulliver Hancock. Actually, it’s been a really good week for names, I just really like three-name names.
Daito Manabe is onto something genius here – this is crazy! The muscles in Daito’s face move in sync to music via some sort of device that sends out an electric pulse. I could see a music video treatment where the entire thing is a close up of a face, kinda like that Bjork video for Hidden Place.
Now Daito just needs to design me a jumpsuit so I can fullfill my dream of winning So You Think You Can Dance. Another video of Daito after the jump!
Absolutely insane paper collages from Norwegian Are Mokkelbost. Thanks to Thomas who pointed me to the work in the comments section of the Ophelia Chong post.
Some creamy illustrations by Kareena Zerefos. A designer turned illustrator, Australia’s lucky to have her. Love the colouring on this owl.
Photography by Michael Kenna. I have become a bit obsessed with this kind of dead silent, meditative, photography lately. I can’t remember where I first saw Kenna’s work but something about it felt very Japanese, like reading a haiku. Later I found out that most of the images I was looking at, had actually been shot in Japan.
Meggs recently had a show out in Australia presented by Stussy and for many it was an introduction to a fantastic artist in the vein of Aaron Noble and Anthony Lister. Deconstructing comic book imagery seems to be in vogue right now and I am loving it.
