Finally! A blog combining two of my favourite things – no, not homemade spaghetti and cleaning my ears with q-tips – this one’s about art galleries and jumping!

Allison Reimus, creator of JumpingInArtMuseums has been inviting people to send in photos of their jumps for her site and now she is taking it a step further. Next Monday (December 8th). 6:30 PM. MoMA. There will be an organized art jump! So all you New Yorkers get out there – the meeting spot is in front of the Pipilotti Rist exhibit.

I mentioned before that I am gonna be part of a huge t-shirt show called Back in Black. People can pick out designs and watch as they are screened on a shirt right at the gallery. If you can’t make it out to the show, you can order t-shirts online here.

I finally setup a Twitterfeed so now you can get notified of any Booooooom updates via Twitter! This is the internet equivalent of us becoming best friends! If you want to Tweet about Booooooom that would be awesome!

A couple packages showed up at my door step the other day and I was delighted to see that they were both from Ophelia Chong. I was pretty excited! I tore open carefully unsealed the envelope, and inside was this little box with a familiar shape on it.

This weekend my friend Terri (The Conveyor Belt) and I were asked to speak on the topic of blogging, at the University of British Columbia! It was actually pretty fun to share the little bit I’ve learned so far, running this site. The best part is we were paid in my second favourite currency: Beer (second only to diamonds).

After I spoke, someone stood up and said “Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.” I thought that was a little rude, maybe that’s just me.

My friend and I have joked for a long time now that the comments on youtube videos are way entertaining than the videos themselves. The website thatwasepic.com takes this concept one step further.

“Decontextualized video comments become modern pieces of poetry.” I don’t know about poetry but some of them are pretty funny and often I feel like I know exactly which video the comment must have come from.
