Becky & Joe are the creators of “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared”, a brilliant video series that mixes live action, stop motion, 2d animation, puppetry, learning, and a touch of pure evil. You can see the first two episodes here and here. They’ve just announced plans to make several more episodes and would love to do it independently so they can keep the creative spirit of the show alive.

This surreal animation by Daniel Britt (from the insanely talented This Is It Collective) is nothing short of a masterpiece. Brilliant writing, and flawless animation. Hats off to everyone involved, especially sound designer Oswald Skillbard. Watch “I Decided To Leave” below!
These flip-books by artist Juan Fontanive are incredible, I’ve never seen an animation feel this alive before. Fontanive builds the mechanisms by recycling old parts from bicycles and clocks, and hand draws, paints, and screen prints images onto paper.
Watch the videos below, the sounds that the machines make are a beautiful compliment to the movement of the animations. These are maybe my favourite works I’ve ever posted.
This animation by Johnny Kelly poses the question: “If for one day you had the power to make your world work better, what would you change?”
Thoroughly enjoyed this, watch the video below.
This short by Royal College of Art student, Sarina Nihei, is hand-drawn animation perfection. The Japanese-born animator has created a masterpiece, and from what I understand it’s her first-year film?! That’s enough to make me want to put everything I made in school in a pile, and set fire to it (I was maybe going to do that this weekend anyways).
The uneasy universe of the story is brilliantly brought to life by sound designer Pat Hime. This is one of those things you watch and as you are watching it you already know it is your favourite.
