At the risk of having you never come back to this site, I have compiled a list of 17 other sites to feed your creative appetite. Dozens more could have been added to this list (perhaps there will be a sequel to it). These are my picks for the 5 best music videos of 2008. If you think you already know all five, I’ll tell you that Bjork’s Wanderlust and Radiohead’s House of Cards did not make the cut! We can argue about my decisions in the comments if you’d like. I’ve tried to track down a streaming version and a high quality downloadable version of each video. Here they are:

5. Kraak & Smaak – Squeeze me (Andre Maat & Superelectric)

The trick to this video could have become tiresome pretty quick but there are so many well though out sequences that it stays fresh until the end. I love the part where the colourbars become books.

Sydney-based film makers Jason van Genderen (director), Shane Emmett (producer), and John Roy (music composer)  created an amazing short that just won $20,000 and Best Film at Tropfest NY 2008 (which I believe is the world’s largest short film festival). The best part is that it was shot on a total budget of $57, and captured using cellphones, nothing else!

I am back in Vancouver! I tried to set up my home email to forward to my gmail address so I could check email a bit while I was away. Two days after I left I realise that my email forwarding attempt was an EPIC FAIL. I came home today to an inbox of 125 emails.

Despite the email flood, it’s nice to be home.

A quick little story: My sister and I rented a car and drove to Toronto a couple days ago and we had a hilarious experience at Avis. I step up to the counter and the conversation goes something like this:

me: hello, I’m here to pick up my car, I have a reservation.

avis guy: No.

me: what? I made a -

avis guy: NOOO!!! (no exaggeration, he is fully yelling)

*awkward silence.

avis guy: I can’t TAKE THIS ANYMORRRRE! (his voice is similar to Professor Frink but whinier)

*he runs out from behind the counter with his hands up to his head

me: ok.. so.. about my reservation

avis guy: I QUIT, I CAN’T STAND THIS JOB! DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT AND STILL GETTING YELLED AT, AHHHHHH!

*he runs right through the wall runs right out the door, and without skipping a beat another employee takes his place. MORE…
