First of all, I just want to say thank you to all you regular readers of the site, you’ve really made this site something I look forward to updating everyday. Moving forward, I’m going to devote even more time to the site because, well, this baby is still growing at an alarming rate. 170,000 views in the past two months is no joke! Big thanks to all the sponsors/advertisers for helping offset my site costs.
In honor of the huge increase of spam in the comments section (none of which actually shows up thanks to the wonderful akismet plugin) and the appearance of spam text messages on my freakin cell phone (how?) I am heading to the spam capital of the world (the other kind!). If anyone needs me I’ll be getting tanned and jacked in Maui for the week.
I’ve pre-written a few posts, so there will continue to be new content posted while I’m away. As soon as I return I’ll post up the Project #3 gallery (had some great submissions already)! Oh, and keep your eyes peeled, I’ve got a bunch of fun stuff planned for the upcoming months.
The title is a bit mis-leading, I didn’t personally take these photos that I’m about to share with you, they’re from Josh Monaghan’s fabulous I TOOK PHOTOS BLOG. No relation to itookphotos, which is also a great site but the slick navigation slows me down – I just want to scroll! Sometimes simple is better. No, simple is always better. If you know of other great photo blogs, not named “i took photos” hit me! And then tell me about the photo blogs! Hiyoooo.
Jude over at Run 4ist Run and I are definitely on the same page! Jude has started a great little collaborative project called “Do Not Leave Unattended“. The project is about sharing images, insights, stories, quotes, anything to inspire others (kinda like here!), and it’s open to anyone. It’s as simple as signing up and a notebook is sent to you. Then you have two weeks to draw, collage, paint, write something, or paste in photos. After your little piece is complete you’re in charge of passing the notebook onto someone else you know.
Head over to Your Face Blog, email Damien Weighill, and he’ll draw your face! Maybe your face will even get published in his zine! Damien just posted face illustration #265 – that’s dedication. I snooped around the site and found a link to his portfolio (CSI should hire me), some really great work over there too.
For those of you who have been commenting a bunch here and are sick and tired of your face being represented by some little pattern. Here is the solution (sorry for not posting about this earlier!) Just head over to Gravatar.com – give ’em your email address and upload a photo. Boom. Done.
It’ll take you a minute at the most! Unless of course you have to take a photo of yourself from the perfect angle, transfer it from your camera, and then photoshop out your acne! If that’s the case you might consider uploading one of these four images as your profile pic instead…
