Anti-terrorism exercises!

The Big Picture blog is one of my favourite photo blogs on the net right now. Here’s a series of photos of anti-terrorism exercises in China. Make sure you head over there because there’s lots I didn’t post here, and more importantly, they’re HUGE! (extremely worth it!)

Ikea Brooklyn

Downtown Brooklyn just got a little taste of cheap Swedish furniture and it came in the form of a giant Ikea box! What a great concept!

No Stress – Justice Parody!

I am quite jaded when it comes to parody music videos – but this one is as good as it gets. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you have already seen the sensational video for Justice’s latest single, Stress (I posted about it awhile ago). The hoodlums’ violence in the video was controversial to some (babies, and old people) but it was exactly the type of hardcore attitude that begged to be parodied. Without further ado I present to you, Justesse – No Stress directed by Thomas Vandenberghe (according to Antville and Youtube) and produced by Charles Villeneuve:

The firecracker part is hilarious!

If you never saw the original video for Stress, I posted it after the jump!

Bleeding Through

I have been following the work of Invisible Creature for quite some time now. They sit atop the music packaging/artwork game – stunning photography, pitch-perfect typography, and an endless array of vastly different styles. These guys know how to put together a finished product!

Bleeding Through’s album, The Truth featured some of Creature’s most eye-popping photos, so I was excited when I came across a blog where they revealed their processes for creating them.

Yasmine Surovec

Yasmine Surovec may have the coolest blog on the internet… You could argue that she doesn’t (she really does) but it would be hard to argue that there is a more dedicated illustrator/blogger out there. He blog A Print A Day is pretty self-explanatory – she posts one of her prints per day. Her latest series of “terrariums” are gorgeous.

$200 Burger

(Apologies in advance to all my vegetarian reader out there) Introducing Burger King’s $200 burger! Yes, you read that correctly, BURGER KING has a $200 burger!

“Wagyu beef, white truffles, pata negra ham slices, cristal onion straws, Modena balsamic vinegar, lambs lettuce, pink Himalayan rock salt, organic white wine and shallot-infused mayonnaise all served up on an Iranian saffron and white truffle dusted bun.”

Pfff What? No Tyrannosaurus egg on there?

This work of art will be on sale once per week in London and there is a happy ending to the story – proceeds go to the Help a London Child charity. You could always save yourself the heart-attack and just donate $200 straight to the charity but that’s just my craaaaazy opinion.

This burger does not win the biggest burger award though… Who here is a fan of In & Out? You know the double-double? The 4×4 animal style? The mythical 8 by 8. You know what I’m sayin’? I know a girl who even attempted a 16 patty burger. But my friends that is nothing… what I am about to show you will change your life…

Bless You!

Sneeze Magazine is about to change the magazine game – not overnight, mind you – slowly – they want to “grow with you, city by city, issue by issue”. So what makes them special? Their distribution method for starters – you won’t be able to grab this off your favourite shop’s shelf, Sneeze is aiming to land a “flagship” news box in the busiest spot of your city. That’s it. One box. How cool is that?

If you live in Vancouver you’ll find this little guy at the corner of Water & Abbot Street. New York’s got a “flagship” at Lafayette & Prince Street. Los Angeles location is coming. MORE…
