Nicholas Haggard

Brooklyn-based photographer, Nicholas Haggard. Saw some similarities between his work and Hanitijo’s so I figured I’d post them back to back (or head to toe, I guess).

Hawaii.

First of all, I just want to say thank you to all you regular readers of the site, you’ve really made this site something I look forward to updating everyday. Moving forward, I’m going to devote even more time to the site because, well, this baby is still growing at an alarming rate. 170,000 views in the past two months is no joke! Big thanks to all the sponsors/advertisers for helping offset my site costs.

In honor of the huge increase of spam in the comments section (none of which actually shows up thanks to the wonderful akismet plugin) and the appearance of spam text messages on my freakin cell phone (how?) I am heading to the spam capital of the world (the other kind!). If anyone needs me I’ll be getting tanned and jacked in Maui for the week.

I’ve pre-written a few posts, so there will continue to be new content posted while I’m away. As soon as I return I’ll post up the Project #3 gallery (had some great submissions already)! Oh, and keep your eyes peeled, I’ve got a bunch of fun stuff planned for the upcoming months.

Aloha.

Sato Shintaro

Beautiful large-format (4 x 5) photography by Japanese photographer Sato Shintaro. The colours he captures are really incredible! I find there’s a kind of loneliness about his work.

Eamo’s knuckle sandwich.

If Illustration had its own Olympics (idea copyrighted by Jeff Hamada 2008) , Eamo Donnelly could certainly captain the Australians to Olympic gold. He uses good old-fashion inks, brushes and pencils to start and finishes digitally. Great work with a unique look.

Youtube Challenge #2: Best Boom.

It’s been a little bit since the mind-blowing success of the first Youtube Challenge – so here’s challenge #2. Find the best example of a “Boom” on youtube. Open for interpretation – the funnier the better. Leave a comment with a link to your choice. I’ll add your youtube videos to this post. Andrew Pancubit posted this first video on Booooooom’s fan page which gave me the idea.

Andrew P. – Haha this one will be hard to beat. Love the graphics on the giant video screen. Nice one Mr. P.

Rest of the submissions after the jump!

Jeff Hamada for Converse 1HUND(RED)

That’s right, yours truly got to make a Chuck Taylor for the Converse 1HUND(RED) project! Converse commissioned 100 musicians, graphic and graffiti artists from all over the world to create one-of-a-kind sneaker designs inspired by the global fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. Here’s a few sneak peeks at the shoe, it’ll be out at select shops later this year!
