Booooooom x ???????

boom-sneak-peek

In my big year-end post in December I said “These past five years, all of it, it’s all still the beginning. It would be really dumb to be satisfied with the beginning.” I set really big goals for myself for this year.

I’ve got something big to announce very soon (I’ve been hinting about it on my Instagram), it involves friends of mine and their brand, also based right here in Vancouver (you may be able to guess). This is the first of several projects that have been a little while in the making. I’m excited to tell you about this one. Stay tuned.

Booooooom Submissions / April

APRIL-600

It’s the start of a new month so that means we are accepting your art submissions through a new post! Thank you all for submitting your work to the March Submissions post. As always thank you to everyone who takes the time to encourage artists who submit work with comments and upvotes. This is the reason why I like taking submissions this way, it means even work that I don’t feel is a fit for the site can still be seen and artists still finding their way can be given a boost.

This is the April Submissions post, please share your work here during the month of April. The comments allow images to be attached so make sure post an image along with a link to your website.

Submission guidelines:

1. Please don’t flood the comments with a dozen images, just post 1 image that represents your best work along with 1 link.

2. If you see good work posted by someone upvote it so it appears at the top. This is not just a nice thing to do, it helps me see what work you actually like.

3. You can/should also encourage people who are sharing good work here! Comment on their posts and let them know you like what they’re doing. I really want to foster a community here, and this is a simple way you can connect with other people making work.

4. Keep in mind your post may not show up right away because it has an image attached. It may need to be manually approved first so don’t freak out and post a million times, once is enough.

Booooooom Mix: TRULY MADLY DEEPLY

truly-madly-deeply-500

This is rare, I made a new mix and it’s not summer! Just a heads up, this one’s pretty much the exact opposite of the summer ones. It might be a bit noisy for your office (unless you work in a really cool office) but you can always download it for later! If you’re into R&Bass music, this one’s for you.

123Klan Book Giveaway

123Klan Book Giveaway

My friends Scien and Klor (123Klan) have just released a fantastic book (order it here) chronicling their work as artists on the street, and as a studio for clients like Nike, Stussy, Carhartt, many others.

Lots of great reference material here if you’re a graphic designer! I get to keep a copy for myself and give the other one away, so who wants it?

If you wanna snag the book tell me the name of your graffiti crew (make one up if you don’t actually have one) in the comments below!
