David Maisel

Jaw-dropping aerial photography by David Maisel. Taken from his website: “For more than twenty years, David Maisel has chronicled the tensions between nature and culture in his large-scaled photographs of environmentally impacted landscapes.” Enjoy some collisions of natural and man-made beauty abstracted by a master.

Lookbook.nu

Your life is officially over. Well, if you are at all interested in fashion it is. I came across Lookbook about a month ago and my productivity went sub-zero for quite awhile. Aspiring fashionistas upload photos of themselves and attach details of exactly what they’re wearing – photos are hyped up and aggregated on the main page. Simple concept, perfect execution.

Desired Hearts

Another site in the vein of Threadless and DesignbyHumans has entered the arena. Desired Hearts. How are they any different? “With every shirt you order we’ll give at least $2 to the charity of your choice. Why? Because its the right thing to do.”

I like seeing this sort of thing, and would love to see them succeed. The site is brand spankin’ new (still beta in fact) so that’s a heads up for all you designers – Get over there before every other kid with their finger on the halftone filter does.

Philippe Ramette

The fabulously surreal work of Philippe Ramette. Not unlike the work of Li Wei featured quite awhile back.

Kevin Francis Gray

I believe this is the first time I’ve featured any sculpture. Fantastic bronze work by Kevin Francis Gray. It’s kinda like Cobra Commander meets the girl from The Ring. Love the amount of detail in the drapery.

Eleanor Hardwick

Beautiful series of photos by Eleanor Hardwick for the home project. I feel I have to mention that Ms. Hardwick was born in 1993 – you do the math. Ridiculous!!! I’ve looked at her portfolio long enough, where’s that tub of ice cream and all my Sandra Bullock movies? October 1st is the day I officially stopped trying.

Omodaka – Kyoteizinc

New video for Omodaka’s Kyoteizinc is incredible! Directed by Hiroshi Kizu and featuring the beautiful dancing of Masako Yasumoto. Serious props to Mr. Kizu, although this proves to me once again: The editor > The director.

I see some similarities between what’s happening in Asia and what’s happening in France. Glitchy-pop techno and this editing style seem to be the craze right now! Like the new windrunner ad by Nike, so obviously influenced by Justice et al. (video after the jump)
