Thomas Sauvin salvages photo negatives from Beijing’s trash and has accumulated over 500,000 images. A Chinese artist named Lei Lei found out about Thomas’ project, and was so touched by the images, he asked if he could use them to make an animation. Watch until the end, it’s worth it!
“Take My Picture” is a fantastic mini-documentary, directed by Dasha Zhukova and Andinh Ha. It examines the phenomenon of “peacocking” in the fashion world due to the proliferation of street style blogs.
I could actually see this being part of a feature length documentary about blogging’s affect on our culture, and our desire to document everything. Watch the film below!
Adam Johnson is one of the finalists in Ketel One’s “A Gentleman’s Call” search for an innovative idea worth $100,000. Johnson and his company Withers & Grain take waste wood from old water towers and buildings and turn it into furniture. My friend Andrew recently started doing a similar thing, building beautiful tables for friends of ours from old doors. Upcycled furniture seems to be a big trend right now. Watch the video below!
