Several months ago I thought maybe the internet had seen the last of David Elsewhere (I hoped this wasn’t true). Well the fine folks over at Poke have just released a bunch of promo videos for the new Motorola Rokr E8 phone. Each viral video showcases one feature of the phone and Elsewhere is in all of them!
It’s been a little bit since the mind-blowing success of the first Youtube Challenge – so here’s challenge #2. Find the best example of a “Boom” on youtube. Open for interpretation – the funnier the better. Leave a comment with a link to your choice. I’ll add your youtube videos to this post. Andrew Pancubit posted this first video on Booooooom’s fan page which gave me the idea.
Andrew P. – Haha this one will be hard to beat. Love the graphics on the giant video screen. Nice one Mr. P.
What is the first word that comes to mind when I say “China”? Whatever the word was, I’d venture a guess that it wasn’t the word “art” (or maybe it was art because my title gave it away). Well, there is a lot of change happening over in China right now and I found this little video over at Current quite interesting, as it offers a little peek at their growing contemporary art scene.
Michael Bay, director of Transformers and other predictable blockbuster movies (in which his own name often appears as big as the main titles) apparently wrote a script for The Dark Knight that was rejected by Warner Bros. Amazingly, it has surfaced on the net…
Last week my good buddy Pigeon John had a show here in Vancouver. He put me and a friend on the guestlist so I thought I’d return the favour by taping the show and putting it on the net. Here’s some highlights from the show, which includes a new song called “So Gangster” (Booooooom! Exclusive!)
Sometimes I hear people hating on him because he’s too silly or he’s joking around or whatever but you people need to lighten UP. You’ll see in the clip he does this “Pigeon Dance” where he is clapping like a fool, and he does that kind of stuff to really humble himself on stage – so he knows that he’s always out there giving it all he’s got (I’ve heard him talk about it). He’s got no ego. This is what performing should be about.
Make sure you get out and see him live! Sorry about my filming, I was getting my dance on and trying to shoot at the same time.
Improv Everywhere strikes again! Charlie Todd is a genius! Last time they froze Grand Central Station, this time they freeze a Taco Bell Grand Opening!
Alex over at Neatorama was quick on this one – Youtube link only has a few hundred views!
People who have been reading this site for awhile know that I am obsessed with photography and specifically light drawing. The Japanese collective known as PIKAPIKA take it one step further and animate it all! Several companies in the past year (HP, etc) have used this in advertising but these guys really pioneered it. I almost want to put a warning here not to view too much of their work because you won’t even feel like getting out of bed in the tomorrow; they are that good.
The film that just jumped to my most anticipated of the year: The Fall. I don’t know what it means for David Fincher and Spike Jonze to (both) be presenting this film buuut it looks incredible. Directed by Tarsem (who also directed the The Cell).
I see one shot in there that is straight up jacked from Baraka but if you’re going to steal you might as well steal from the best.
