My girl crush knows no bounds with the California sister trifecta that is: HAIM. The band just dropped a new single called “Send Me Down” and it’s basically going to be the soundtrack of my life for the next month. They’ve perfect that heavy base drum sound of 90s pop, taking cues from Fleetwood Mac to Janet Jackson. I’m obsessed. Let me be your fourth sister, HAIM.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since I worked on a benefit show in LA with my friends over at Yours Truly. I’d been a fan of Blake Mills for a while so having him and girlfriend Danielle Haim involved was a dream.
So when my pals at YT let me know they just filmed Blake performing an unreleased track at Mollusk Surf Shop I was equal parts jealous and nostalgic. Blake’s reputation as a guitar legend often overshadows his songwriting, but I think that’s what he was made for. Watch, below.
