Awesome “Inventors!” project by British designer and inventor Dominic Wilcox (who we posted about last year). After gathering over 600 ideas from over 450 children across Sunderland and South Tyneside, UK, Wilcox whittled down the entries to 60 and challenged local manufacturers to create exactly what the kids envisioned. See more of the original imaginings paired with the real-life creations below!
Every now and then I browse VVORK and today I came across the work of Germaine Kruip. Kruip used 300 computer-controlled halogen lights and a translucent fabric to create a moving shadow in this hallway. “The Wavering Skies” looks like something out of a Kubrick film or a Jamiroquai video, and while the work itself isn’t mind-blowing, it did give me roughly a thousand new ideas for cool music videos and/or horror movie sequences.
If you’re ever looking for a great way to combat creative blocks just put together a little bookmark folder for yourself of really random image-heavy links and make sure VVORK is one of them.
