Instagram of the Day: Artist Creates Vintage VHS Versions of Modern Movies

If you grew up in the 80s you’re really gonna like this Instagram account. Steelberg takes current films and makes fantastic retro VHS covers for them. Many of you will be too young to have ever gone to a store to rent a video but seeing these makes me kinda miss the whole movie-choosing ritual. Have a look at more VHS covers below.

Instagram of the Day: 75-Year-Old Grandpa Posts a Drawing a Day for His Grandkids

lee22

What’s Astro doing? He’s touching grandpa’s nose and saying “nose, nose, nose!”

Drawings For My Grandchildren is the Instagram account of Chan Jae Lee, a 75-year-old Korean man and artist based in Brazil. Separated from his grandchildren who live in Korea and New York, Chan started using Instagram after his son insisted it would be a better use of his retirement than watching television.

While Chan initially shot down the idea, the birth of his youngest grandchild, Astro, made him realize that he won’t always be around to see his grandchildren grow up and agreed to create the account as a kind of virtual gift to them.

Helped along by his wife (who writes the captions for each post) Chan has completed a drawing a day, sharing everything from family memories and everyday moments to random thoughts and life lessons. Check out more of Chan’s heartwarming work below!

Instagram of the Day: @ChillWildlife

chillwildlife-instagram

Today I’m headed to Costa Rica for a little vacation, and so as a sort of “vacation project” I’ve started a new Instagram account @chillwildlife for my true passion, chill photos of animals. Follow it if you want at least one laugh per day (and if that’s all you want you’re setting the bar quite low, my friend).

Now I’m feeling weird about featuring my own account – actually, no I’m not. I’ve only been working on @chillwildlife for two days and it’s already my favourite thing to work on. I laughed pretty hard all day yesterday just thinking about it. If you want to submit funny images to it please @ me or use #chillwildlife but please for the love of God no meme pics with text on them. Thanks!

There will continue to be new posts on Booooooom while I’m away, and I’ll be back in a week or so.
