#SHOOTITYOURSELF, a new video series by #TheCreatorClass and Canon, features some of Instagram’s most creative image makers sharing some insights into how they create their signature images. In this episode, Adeyemi Adegbesan, known to most as @soteeoh (“so T.O.” as in Toronto) give you a taste of the city through his lens.

Belgian painter Adele Renault’s large-scale portraits are impressive enough on their own. However, the story behind the subject of her latest series (currently on view at Havas Annex in Chicago) is worth noting. Artist George Keaton and photographer Mariah Naella found an egg on their kitchen counter after workers accidentally destroyed a pigeon nest while fixing their windows. The egg started hatching and before they knew it the couple was raising a little bird. Even after being released back into the wild, the pigeon remained a fixture in the couple’s neighbourhood, and his development featured prominently on Instagram where Renault has since drawn inspiration.
I like that these verge on photorealism but still have a unique style to them. Check out more images below!
When Lego refused to sell Ai Weiwei a bulk order for a new project, fans started offering up their own. The contemporary artist/activist will now use these lego donations for a piece specifically related to issues of free speech and “political art.” Check out his latest Instagram posts and the first Lego-collection point (a parked car with an open sunroof for easy Lego depositing) below!
After I shared this EPIC VIDEO, a member of our Facebook group Pedro Piccinini (thank you sir!) pointed me to this glorious Instagram account: @theMonoNeon. Dywane MonoNeon Thomas Jr. plays music to the exact tune of random internet videos, everything from stand up comedy sets to scenes from famous films. People like this are what I love most about the Internet.
To really get a sense for what I’m talking about watch this video of an angry grandpa destroying a PS4 accompanied by music from MonoNeon below.
