Sun Airway reconstruct Oh, Naoko
Sun Airway reconstruct “Oh, Naoko” their amazing dedication to Yoko Ono, with some help from Your Truly!

Mad Men Theme / Nature Boy
“Nature Boy” (made famous by Nat King Cole), is performed over top of a live rendition of RJD2′s “A Beautiful Mine” (the theme from Mad Men). It’s amazing how well this fits, and it’s a one-take to boot!

Billie Jean by Aloe Blacc
“Billie Jean”, by Aloe Blacc and The Grand Scheme. RIP MJ.
Enjoy this amazing Michael Jackson cover below!
Gold Teeth / Slow
Gold Teeth perform Slow, in a park. The vibe of the song reminds me of Seu Jorge playing the Bowie songs in The Life Aquatic.

Jay Dee / 40-Piece Orchestra
AWESOME. A 40-piece orchestra interpreting the music of the late great Jay-Dee. Arrangements by Miguel Atwood Ferguson. Lots of cameos throughout – here’s Pos and Talib doin Stakes is High and then the show closing with Illa J (Dilla’s little brother) singing over Fall in Love (footage courtesy of DERT).
There was a film crew there and it looks like it will be released as a DVD! It will be a must-have (at least for me). Thanks to YesYesYall for the heads up!
Keys n Krates
Some music for your weekend! Keys N Krates, if you don’t already know you better get familiar! Picture The Roots, but Black Thought has been replaced by an ITF world champion DJ. Here they are absolutely killing Toronto earlier this year.

Jr Flo (the krates) and Matisse (the keys) are rockin parties the way they were meant to be rocked! Remixes with live drums, bass, and keys! It doesn’t get any better than this. They blew several thousand minds at the Livestock BBQ here in Vancouver in September.
Beastie Boys Live – PART 2
Not exactly hot on the heels of Beastie Boys Live – PART 1, but here is the next installment nonetheless. If you haven’t already grabbed Live in Australia ’99 and the Demo version of Paul’s Boutique do that first. Next up is Live in London – Wembley Stadium, also from 1999. Sound quality is the name of the game here so this is another one that is likely direct from soundboard or possibly from the feed that went out to radio.
Once again these photos were taken by Maya Hayuk, a fantastic artist whose work I am a huge fan of.
