Milwaukee-based Ric Stultz just updated his portfolio with a whole bunch of new work called Beasts of Burden! Most of Stultz work is mixed media on paper, and these new ones are all gouache and india ink. Am I the only one who was forced to mix gouache to make colour-wheels, in first year of art school, until my eyes bled? I found it so frustrating, I’m always interested when someone actually chooses to use it.

I’ve been meaning to post about Ian Francis for awhile. He draws, paints, collages, paints again, draws some more, you get the idea. I was largely inspired by his work a couple years ago when I found myself designing lots of music packaging (my work holds a candle to Francis’ work).
