Love David Rudnick’s graphic work and typography for RL Grime’s debut album, VOID. This is flawless work, and I love how it carries over into the animation for RL Grime’s single “Valhalla”. The video was directed by David Rudnick and Daniel Swan, and features animation by Bob Walmsley and Andrew Keyser. Watch it below.
Cool music video by Jeremy Rotsztain for Russian musician COH created using sound-responsive algorithms. I imagine this is what people with synesthesia see when they hear music. Watch “BECHA-KPACHA” below.
Fantastic music video by one of my favourite director teams Encyclopedia Pictura. Not exactly your typical love story. Watch the video for Metronomy’s song “The Upsetter” below, and also a behind the scenes video of some of their process behind the elaborate costuming.
Love this video Yoann Lemoine directed for Black Atlass. Lemoine went back to his roots as a CGI artist and spent 8 months, in between touring as Woodkid, creating every shot in this on his own. He described his process saying “I used a DIY 3D scan system that rebuilds models from multiple still images, and what we call camera mapping” (source). I’d love access to a 3D scan system like this. Watch the gorgeous video below.
