Fascinatingly strange portraits from Italian born, Berlin based painter Dario Puggioni that portray, according to Puggioni, subjects that exist in a world of complete silence. The result of this existence is an evolutionary step that is also silent: subjects growing plants from their bodies. See more of Puggioni’s paintings below.
Artist Chad Murray has never been skydiving before. He has made a series of paintings without visual references, imagining what it would be like to skydive. He hopes to exchange his paintings for the opportunity to experience the real thing. My favourite part of his Kickstarter is under risks: “Maybe the parachute won’t open”.
There is an honesty to Chad’s work that I find funny but also kinda profound. This skydiving project is really about a person’s ability to dream something into reality. If Chad imagines it hard enough, it will actually become real! Help make his dream come true through his Skydiving Kickstarter.
*Chad has reached his goal; he will get to live his dream!!!
Mexican artist Smithe painted one of my favourite murals at Pow! Wow! Hawaii this year; it was a collaboration with German artist Case, and you can see it here. When I first posted his work back in 2012 I didn’t realise that in addition to being an insane painter and illustrator he’s also a musician! His band, .Stendal will be playing SXSW this month!
Seeing his work nice and big in Hawaii took it to a whole other level for me. I love his line work and the way he colours his pieces. Take a look at some more images below.
