Wassily Kandinsky was one of the first artists I studied about in highschool and his artwork still resonates with me today. Every now and then I think I’ll sneak in some classic work amongst all the contemporary stuff.

I told ya I was gonna feature more painting on the site so that’s exactly what I’m doing. Fantastic oil paintings by Francoise Nielly. She lives and works in Paris and has shown all over the world (even right here in Vancouver). Such bold strokes with a palette knife – what’s not to love?

In an effort to feature more painters on the site here’s some paintings by Californian, Michelle Blade. I am definitely more familiar with the work of her sister, Sonya… ok bad joke. I’m digging these – the last one reminds me of that Spanish horror film The Orphanage.

Meggs recently had a show out in Australia presented by Stussy and for many it was an introduction to a fantastic artist in the vein of Aaron Noble and Anthony Lister. Deconstructing comic book imagery seems to be in vogue right now and I am loving it.
